Overview
Although not one of the largest archipelagos, the Eastern Aegean islands have much to offer, not least, greener landscapes than most Greek islands with scenery to match. Samos has access to some amazing sites, in particular the neighbouring island of Patmos, steeped in Christian history and Ephesus on the Turkish mainland. Both tiny Fourni and lush Ikaria remain untainted by the inexorable advance of the tourist seeking home from home. This mix will probably suit the island hopper seeking the most diversity from their travel amongst the unspoilt Greek islands.
